Mattress donation to Diphuti Primary School

GVI have been working with Diphuti Primary School for nearly 6 years. Our work with the children (aged 9-10) includes wildlife education, teaching English and helping to strengthen social bonds by one-to-one interaction with GVI volunteers.

After talking to a staff member from the School, it was realized that we can help Diphuti beyond our usual outreach to them. We were informed that the children from Reception class have daily ‘nap time’ but during this time they sleep on the classroom floor.

It was decided that we would donate 9 spare mattresses to the School in order to provide the children with a more comfortable sleep.

The principle of the School wrote in a letter of thanks,

‘Their junior phase learners will feel so comfortable resting on them. With their heart full of joy, they would appreciate it if you can tirelessly feel free to donate anything you have. May our friendship last forever.’
