Faith in Magic

We took a drive down to the South of Karongwe game reserve last night to check up on the hyenas. There are at least 30 hyena den sites on the reserve and none of the hyenas got collars on so we used the old fashion way of tracking them, by spoor. Surprisingly we found them quite easily and got a great visual. Two hyena cubs play fighting with a dung beetle, curiously sniffing closer and closer then jumping in fright when it buzzed its wings. Watching their complete bliss in ignorance, the stars and fireflies illuminating them against the backdrop of the Drakensburg Mountains, my faith in magic was restored.
