The Grand Canyon found in Karongwe!
On an innocent research drive last week one of our teams stumbled across a road that had not been driven on in a while. To their horror they realised why...there were enormous eroded gaps in the road.
This group LOVE the conservation work we do 3 times a week so immediately (on the next conservation drive!!!) set about filling in these gaps with chunks of concrete taken from old man-made pans around the reserve.
They have really enjoyed smashing up these old pans that are not needed and splitting the chunks into smaller pieces to fill in erosion sights.
The road that started it all has now been nicknamed 'Canyon Road'!
