Diphuti School goes on Safari!!

Community day at GVI Karongwe involves visiting a local school called Diphuti Primary, interacting with the children and teaching them about computer skills and wildlife, as well as trying to blend in the message of conservation. As a motivational award, in the final week of an expedition, we bring the children we have been working with to Karongwe and take them on safari! The children had a great time last week as we successfully saw Zebra (Equus quagga), Waterbuck (Kobus ellipsiprymnus), Kudu (Tragelaphus strepsiceros), Wildebeest (Connochaetes taurinus) and Warthog (Phacochoerus africanus). Also, on the last stretch, we saw Giraffe (Giraffe camelopardalis). It is always a pleasure to see the children’s faces look up as they stare, in ore, of the amazing animal’s sheer size. Hopefully the children went home with a better appreciation of wildlife and how important it is to preserve their habitat.
