My 1 year anniversary with GVI Venetia!

On the 1st of Feb the reserve celebrated with me on my 1 year anniversary with GVI by giving us a amazing drive!

Heading out on morning drive we encountered two Brown hyena (Hyena brunnea) on the N1 just casually strolling along for about 5 minutes. We continued for the morning not being very successful but headed out on afternoon drive full of hope and a borrowed telemetry set.

On our way to find Blade our resident male Lion (Panthera leo) we found a Bat-eared fox (Otocyon megalotis), and minutes later got our first sighting of the expo of Blade.

All exited about our good day on the reserve we were greeted by a Black mamba (Dendroaspis polylepis) that raised himself to the car to make sure we knew it was his territory, even more exited we drove home only to catch a glimpse of our resident female leopard (Panthera pardus) on the corner before the turnoff to Safari camp!

What an awesome day!
