Darting Cheetah

For about 3 months now we are nervous about Scarlet our female cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus) collar, hanging on its last wire, and not sure if we would find only the collar one day, we waited in anticipation for the new collar to arrive on what we call Africa time.

Finally the collar arrived and darting from one of our vehicles the volunteers got a first hand experience of the whole process.

With a successfully re-collar and full examination by the local veterinary Scarlet was ready to go.

Another exiting day on Hlambanyahti.
