A River Runs Through It
Weeks 3 and 4 are normally quiet and peaceful at Safari Camp. Half our volunteers head up to the Soutpansberg mountains to help out with conservation work for a few days, leaving those of us on base continuing the research.
Monday morning had us all melting in 43 degrees but by midday the thunder clouds were moving in. This was no English drizzle with 45mm falling in as many minutes. Volunteers were also lucky enough to see the Kolope river flowing past camp, something that has only happened three times so far this year!
