A sad good bye to Lindsey and Alice

After a 10 week expedition in Venetia and Karongwe game reserves, volunteers can apply to come back and work for one of the bases as 'unpaid staff'. We look for hardworking, committed volunteers who will bring something fresh to our team.

Lindsey Spiller and Alice Clark were chosen to come back to Karongwe and we are SO glad they did! They have both bought new ideas, positive attitudes, professionalism and their bubbly personalities.

They have worked so so hard and we are really sad to see them leave.

Lindsey (top right) was our 'base unpaid staff member' assisting with data entry and checking, heading up the baboon spider project, helping with training new volunteers and aiding in writing reports for reserve management and for GVI's internal records.

Alice (bottom right) was our 'mountain unpaid staff member' so 3 weeks out of a 5 week expedition she helped run the mountain phase at Mariepskop. Taking and recording data on small mammals, taking volunteers on hikes, training new volunteers and demonstrating how the rope swing in the mountains should be done!!

We're all going to really, really miss you guys. Please stay in touch. All our love.

Helen Bastin.

Base Manager.
