Murals

Having been bitten by the renovation bug, some of our volunteers have offered their talents to help us improve GVI Base. Susan Mertens, in particular, had kept her painting talents quiet until she came up with the idea for a mural on the inside walls of our verandah. With photographs of her subjects selected, a photoshop rendering agreed to by the landlords and acrylic paints at hand, she set off to create what can only be described as incredible. She has managed to produce a fitting tribute to that quintessential Karongwe character, our favourite lion, Zero. With the help of Izabelle Wideen, Susan has also gone on to recreate the Karongwe and GVI logos which will be on display for all future volunteers.

Thank you Susan for your time, effort and inspiration! Your work is a fine addition to your growing portfolio (www.susanmertens.com)
