Cheetah Kill at GVI Base!
The new expedition went with a flying start, as last week, the new expedition members witnessed first hand our uncollared Cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus) ), Savannah, chasing and killing an Impala (Aepyceros melampus) in GVI Base garden. It was a close call as Savannah, during the chase, ran literally 3 metres past one of our volunteers, George, who was minding his own business in the garden.
We were then able to observe her from a distance and she enjoyed her meal for the rest of the day. That evening 9 Spotted Hyena (Crocuta crocuta) came up to investigate and feasted on the remains. This is an experience we will never forget!
