Cuttroat the legend....
Like always tracking the wild dogs (Lycaon pictus) are an absolute pleasure, from racing around blocks to try and catch up on these painted wolves to make sure you are able to try and find, what they actually do on a day to day basis, to being able to experience the magic when they encounter another animal.
Such an animal is Cut-throat our resident spotted hyena (Crocuta crocuta), the name is from a old snare scar around the neck, our hyena is just as tough as the pirate, being able to escape such a experience.
This was the first true sighting we have had of it, normally a quick blur as it disappears into the thickets, it seems that habituation towards our vehicles are going well with a 40 min sighting of Cut-throat following the dogs on their morning patrol.
Cutthroat is truly a legend on Hlambanyahti.......
