Black Rhino tracks!

We still haven't seen the illusive black rhino (Diceros bicornis), but we have proof now that they do exist on Venetia, and it is not just the numbers indicating that we should have about 6. We found fresh tracks in the morning drive on Main Regina road. The black rhino is an endangered species and there is about only 3000 of them left in the wild, and here at Venetia we are proud to say at least 6 of the total is on our reserve! About a month ago another researcher from the EWT (Endangered Wildlife Trust) Wendy Collinson had the privilege of seeing a mother with a calf for the first time in her 5 years on Venetia! We are all exited in knowing we as a research group are helping in black rhino conservation.
