My first leopard on Venetia!

I have finally seen my first leopard on Venetia! After collecting some rocks for camps new garden we drove back on the N1 not really expecting to see much. When a beautiful female leopard (Panthera pardus) stepped onto the road out of the thickets. Luckily between us we had two cameras to capture the moment.

It is quite good news for our leopard research data, this female has been seen before on Venetia and is easily identifiable with her left blind eye. She was very relaxed and that was the highlight for me on Venetia so far!
