Blade.... What a magnificent lion!
After the last two darting's the lions (Panthera leo) at Venetia is still very skittish and is difficult to see as the keep on moving away from the vehicles. It is very frustrating seeming you have struggled to find them for 4 hours and when you finally get them to minus five on the radio telemetry they get up and move away without even a glimpse of a lion.
Luckily Blade was a bit more considerate and gave our volunteers a full on view of what a male lion should look like.
Isn't he a stunner....
